Initiative Grant from the Loft Literary Center to promote his book in
Cooperstown, New York, during the National Baseball Hall of Fame's
Induction Weekend in July.

John's new book, Hammerin' Hank,
George Almighty and the Say Hey Kid: The Year that Changed Baseball
Forever, which chronicles the watershed 1973 Major League Baseball
season, was released in April 2008 by Sourcebooks.

production company of actor Milo Ventimiglia (Rocky Balboa), recently
optioned the movie and television rights to John’s book on high school
hockey in Minnesota
“Blades
of Glory: The True Story of a Young Team Bred to Win”. No
word yet on its Hollywood fate.

John's book, Big Book Unplugged,
which is a guide to the text of Alcoholics Anonymous, has been translated into
Spanish and distributed in Mexico.
